“Bonjour” OUT NOW! - https://graduation.ffm.to/bonjour
The British-born, Nigerian/Jamaican Gen Z rapper, producer, engineer, streamer and viral content creator has spent years building an audience through his unmistakable personality and billions of views. Now, with the release of his new single Bonjour, he may have just reminded everyone that underneath the funny faces and viral content is a seriously talented musician.
The industry has embraced WhyDee the content creator, but perhaps hasn't always taken WhyDee the artist as seriously despite his incredible music, streams and music videos. Rather than wait for anyone to give him permission, he has continued building independently and doing things his own way. And the results are difficult to ignore.
WhyDee isn't a rapper who recently discovered production. At 11, he taught himself how to build a recording studio from scratch, piecing it together while watching YouTube tutorials and spending days locked away, missing school until he got it working all so his mum could return to making music.
Now Bonjour brings the different sides of WhyDee together.
The record is an infectious, feel-good UK rap track about growth, ambition and leaving the past behind, but its second verse takes a sharper turn, packed with clever wordplay and subtle shots that are likely to have listeners wondering exactly who he is referring to.
With almost 1,000 TikTok recreations already building around the track ahead of release, the audience is already listening.
Following the audio release on 11th September, WhyDee will shortly unveil a cinematic official music video, bringing the world of ‘Bonjour’ to life visually and giving fans another major piece of content to engage with.
With the record already gaining significant traction before release, the visual is expected to take the campaign into its next phase across YouTube, social platforms and wider music and entertainment media.
‘Bonjour’ is about growth in every sense. For WhyDee, this isn't simply another single. It’s the beginning of his next chapter.
