After being convicted of running an interstate drug operation, Jimmy Henchman confessed to authorities he was the mastermind behind the shooting and robbery of Tupac Shakur that began the East Coast vs. West Coast war. According to the Village Voice, Henchman participated in “Queen For A Day” government sessions last fall where he confessed to being the brains behind the operation that landed Tupac in the hospital nursing five gunshot wounds. (The “Queen For A Day” program allows suspected assailants under investigation choose to enter an agreement with the government to confess knowledge of certain crimes with the agreement that the information won’t be used to prosecute them.)

To say 2kay, real name Abiye David Jumbo, has had to struggle for his break in the music industry is an understatement. Not that having to fight to get what you want is an alien concept to the newest arstise on the Grafton Streetz label. He grew up in the violent regions of Port Harcourt and it is those experiences that 2kay started writing music about from a very early age. But trying to focus on the music was difficult when he had turmoil in his private life that reflected that going on in his surroundings. At the age of 12 he had to hawk kerosene on the streets to help his struggling mother maintain the family. It is perhaps here that 2kay was able to understand the power of his music as he proved a popular salesman with a selling and singing pitch.
He attended Community Secondary School, Bonny Island and then moved to Port Harcourt in the bid to make it into the university. This bid proved unsuccessful because of lack of funds, another hurdle he had to overcome. 2kay then made his way back to his native Bonny Island to take advantage of the oil and gas boom and get a job that would help him save the funds for his university education. In the meantime, with music on the backburner, he made ends meet by drawing portraits of people and marketing it to them for cash. Eventually he landed that employment during the constructing of the Nigerian Nlng project and that helped him raise the money he needed to continue his education. Finally 2kay did gain admission to the University of Port Harcourt on a part-time course in Visual Arts. However he had to relinquish his place again because he ran out of funds.
When dropped out of school he made a brave decision to finally pursue his true love - music. As usual he went after the music industry with a typical fervour. He began attending talent search upon talent search in the hope of catching the eye of a producer or a label. He approached Grafton Records on several occasions during the yearly Bonny Beach carnival. Finally, through sheer persistence and the will for his talent to be seen and heard, he caught the attention of Grafton Records CEO Tonye Ibiama when he performed in a competition that picked the local acts that were to perform at the 2009 Bonny Beach carnival. Needless to say, 2kay came first in the contest, at the same time blowing away Tonye who immediately invited him for serious talks. Finally when the deal was sealed, a delighted
Tonye knew that he had found a diamond fit for the new Grafton Streetz label. "This man had paid his dues where it really mattered, on the street. There was no fake with 2kay, it was all real-life experience going into that sound. That intertwined with his undeniable talent and hunger is why I had to have this guy on our label. There is nobody going to work harder to make his music work for the audience than 2kay. And people are really going to appreciate and love the passion and commitment he brings. And believe me, this guy can bring it big style."
With the forthcoming release of his debut single 'Run this Town', 2kay realises a lifelong dream. And after working so hard to get to this point, don't think 2kay is about to stop there. He is soon to release his as yet untitled debut album from the material he has been honing in the studio since joining the Grafton stable. No doubt, 2kay is the new hardest working man in show business. His debut single Run this town scored major success across the Niger Delta and the south south and got the regions highest selling artiste Duncan Mighty endorse Mr 2kay with a remix of the song called we run this town His debut album WATERSIDE BOY is set for release under the stable of Grafton Entertainment late 2011

Born in Delta State, Nigeria to a Greek father and a Nigerian mother and raised in the heart of Las Gidi, JOJO has always been destined for greatness. After her formative years in Lagos, Jojo moved to the United Kingdom to further hed education but not before embarking on a hugely successful singing career here in Nigeria in 2000 with the release of her debut album titled Sahara Nights which was produced by the world renowed Carl Raccah and brought Jojo much success including the first ever Gold Record award which was awarded to her by MTN Play and Go in 2003.

TY MAGIC - real name, Akintayo Akinmulero - is anything but new to the Nigerian music scene and is certainly a name to be reckoned with. Having played music and performed in bands from the tender age of 7, the promising rapper, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist burst onto the scene in 2009 with the hugely successful “Blackberry Pin”.
Growing up in musically inclined surroundings, Ty Magic honed his song-writing and music making dexterities by writing and arranging songs for his Secondary School choir where he served as the Choir Director. On the side, he whetted his rapping skills by performing at social events in school and later went on to became a member of a Hip-Hop group called Triple Threat before embarking on his solo career in 2006.
Ty Magic likes to be referred to as a musician as different from just a rapper or singer and it shows in the way that he is focused more on all the facets of his music - from the melodies and rhythm to perfecting the harmonies - rather than simply on rapping or dropping metaphors and punchlines. Like the “Performance Producers” before him such as Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Don Jazzy, Ty Magic produces the instrumentals, initiates the hook and verses and employs fitting melodies and vocals - and the right vocalist - to expand the music from a concept forming in his mind to the eventual hit song that we all get addicted to.
As a graduate of Microbiology from Covenant University, Ty Magic cleverly describes his passion for music in biological terms, “to be the single cell of good music present in a tissue of other musicians such that he can reproduce and colonize the surrounding tissue, thus organs, thus system”.

The war between Margate rapper Mic Righteous and radio legend Tim Westwood is well and truly in full swing now the emcee has retaliated to Tim's harsh critique with diss track 'Sack City.' The war of words began when Tim fired shots at Righteous on his BBC Radio 1Xtra show, claiming the rapper falsely believed Devlin was dissing him in the music video for his single 'White Rapids.'
"[Devlin] didn't name names, it's not you, you just want the promo kid," Tim said in his rant against Righteous. "You just want to big your chest up and claim beef when there's no beef there. I read your timeline, don't get it twisted kid, you're sour. Fix your face sucker, don't be claiming what you want... go back to Margate."
Righteous has now responded with a diss track recorded over the beat of Tyga's popular club anthem, 'Rack City.' Is the Young MC got a right to diss a legend like Tim? See video below and tell us what you think?
