Nigerian movie director Jeta Amata is a well known and respected Nigerian filmmaker whose film, Amazing Grace showed to the world beyond that he is capable of doing big things. Jeta is out with Black Gold, his latest offing, shortly after Inale hit the cinemas.
Black Gold is a powerful story of greed, murder and corruption in the murky waters of the volatile, oil-rich, Niger-Delta region of Nigeria. The movie is an epic about environmental injustice and the fight over the control of the scarce oil resources the world runs on.
The line between good and evil is blurred as corrupt government officials, greedy oil companies and violent rebels go on a war path over oil spills and degradation of the land caused by oil exploration.
The movie stars Billy Zane, Mbong Amata, Hakeem Kae Kazim and Sarah Wayne Callies. It is produced by Jeta Amata, Wilson Ebiye, Dede Mabiaku and Hakeem Kae Kazim.
