Mr J and Chuka Royalty, who are about to take the music scene by storm with their new musical project.
UK producer Mr. J, formally known as J-Swizz is a talented producer with no boundaries. With his music ranging from Hip Hop to Orchestra to AfroPop, it is only right to say he is unstoppable. He has worked with the likes of Gospel artists Guvna B and Faith Child.
His musical C.V does not stop there; top UK artists such as Jammer, J Stories, Snakey Man and J Sol, are amongst the names of people he has worked with, so it is very easy to say he is no stranger in the game.
After a few years off the music scene, the 2012 BEFFTA nominated producer is back teaming up with his former group member from his earlier years in music Chuka Royalty to deliver a special package to all the music lovers out there. Chuka Royalty is an exceptional musician full of originality. The multitalented musician (producer/songwriter/ singer/rapper) is a rare breed of talent.
Mr Royalty is not just known for his musical talents, but has also been based on OHTV’s Africa Rising as a Presenter (on Nigeria’s 50th Independence special) in 2010, as well as working with BEFFTA (Black Entertainment, Fashion, Film and Television Awards) as a member and youth ambassador for two years (2011-2012). Together the new formed duo are putting together a project that is set to put the music world on fire!
Mr J and Chuka Royalty are no strangers to the music game, after their long working relationship and friendship, the music chemistry between the two is phenomenal! The first single taken off their new project is starting off with a BANG! It’s a mix between pop, dance and afro-pop, and it by no means is bound to get everyone bubbling.
The hot new single titled ‘Ekele’ (‘EKELE’ is a Nigerian Igbo word which means ‘Thanks’ the word also stands for appreciation in any form which in most cases leads to celebration) will be out on 1 July, alongside their first official video together. The song is about celebrating life to the fullest regardless of how it unfolds. It is a well produced and written song by the unstoppable two. As they bring a new sound to the UK/Afro scene the Nigerian pair are definitely one’s to keep your eyes on as they plan an epic unique musical journey.
‘Omo if you sit down for corner you dey waste your time’ lyrics which translates to.... get with the program or miss out on the celebration!
