MUSIC: AYO SOLANKE " Komalobe" @ayo_solanke

Ayo Solanke is one of the most dynamic and energetic jazz and soul saxophonists to ever appear in the entire African music scene with a unique soulful style. He is a songwriter and arranger with a background in event management and project coordination with almost two decades of experience.


He picked up the saxophone for the first time in 1997 during his first year studying Mechanical Engineering at the University Of Lagos, Nigeria and gradually developed into a virtuoso performer. 

He recently featured on a live DVD with the legendary Kirk Whalum on Gospel According to Jazz Chapter IV which is scheduled to release in 2015.

He has also recorded with the likes of Hugh Masakela, Jimmy Dludlu , Zahara, Judith Sephuma, Pastor Benjamin Dube, Afrotraction, , Ringo Madlingozi, Danny K, Pops Mohammed, Kunle Ayo just to mention a few.

As a performer, he has also performed before notable personalities such as Operah Winfrey, President Bill Clinton, President Jacob Zuma, President Olusegun Obasanjo and has performed at some notable events such as Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, Cape Town Jazz Fest, MACUFE, South Africa Idols and Gospel Classics TV Show on SABC 2.

Ayo specializes in live entertainment for Concerts, Corporate and Private Functions. Some of his clients; past and present include: Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Aurecon, Delloite Consulting, Glendower Golf Club, T Musicman.

Ayo has recorded two albums with his band "Spectrum 4 Jazz Ensemble" and is currently working on his debut album titled “THE JOURNEY” which is due for release in 2014.

In a career spanning almost two decades, Ayo has a sound that is exceptional; it is a sound that touches the mind and reaches deeply into the soul, always leaving his listeners and followers yearning for more.
