NEWS; Woman reveals she was raped in her sleep over 300 times - by her own husband

Sarah Tetley has revealed the shocking abuse she was subjected to by her husband and the father of her daughter when she was fast asleep.

Speaking bravely on ITV’s This Morning to raise awareness of abuse, she said she only discovered the extent of what he was doing when he was arrested and she watched the tapes police had discovered on his computer.

It wasn't until November 2013, two years after the abuse began, when Sarah started to suspect something was horribly wrong and raised the alarm.

“I woke up in the morning in that sort of drowsy just waking up stage and realised that he was molesting me in my sleep," she said.

"At the time I thought I'll just pretend I'm still asleep and see what's going on. He stopped pretty quickly and I left the bedroom and went downstairs and sat up watching some rubbish on telly."

Once it got to daylight and he'd gone to work, Sarah then went to her neighbour's house and told them what happened and they encouraged her to call the police.

After investigating, the police eventually managed to unlock files on his computer and found 316 videos.

It wasn't until the following March that she could view what he'd filmed and until then she didn't know what was in them, although police had warned her that they were disgusting. She says she watched 16 in total.

“A couple of the videos I watched you couldn't hear me be breathing and I didn't really appear to be moving at all. I did look like I was dead in some of them,” she explained.

She continued: “A lot of the videos weren’t just of him but of household objects and things he would decide to do with those. It was quite disturbing.”

"You can assume you were drugged although the tests proved inconclusive," Phillip said before asking if she ever felt different when she woke up or if things were in unusual places, but Sarah said she never really suspected anything.

“In the morning I might wake up with a dead arm… but nothing that made me think something untoward was going on,” Sarah replied.
