Taylor Swift just bought a bunch of porn websites.
For those wondering, we're not talking about shares in Brazzers.com or Porn Hub, the Grammy award-winning star is pre-empting the surge of extra domain names like, '.sucks,' '.adult,' and of course, '.porn'
It’s a smart move from the pop princess, considering as of June 1st, according to CNN, those domain names (or gTLDs) and more will be up for grabs for anyone and everyone.
Unsurprisingly, brands are scrambling to prevent their image from being slandered by the use of hurtful domain names like, .sucks.
It’s been revealed that T-Swizz has quickly coveted 'TaylorSwift.porn' and 'TaylorSwift.adult' so people like you or I can't use them for our own look-a-like porn sites.
As Steve Miholovich (SVP of marketing at Safenames) puts it, “people who have bad intentions are going to do what they’re going to do and there’s nothing to prevent that."
In the words of Taylor Swift: haters gonna hate, hate, hate.
CNN reports Microsoft has already nabbed Office.porn and Office.adult, but not all expanded gTLDs have a bad rap.
Names like ‘.healthcare,’ ‘.deals,’ ‘.amsterdam’ among hundreds more will also be made available.
No word yet whether T-Swizz is going to capitalise or even pop
