Nigerian Legend in the music industry 2Face Idibia and his lovely wife Annie Idibia who is also an actress, have been slammed with a N120 million law suit by the photographer who covered their wedding.
The photographer who goes by the name Mr. Emmanuel Okolo accused the couple of copyright infringement as the case was brought before a justice of the high court Justice Mohammed Idris in Lagos.
According to Mr. Okolo, who owns Papilonmexy Films Studios Limited 2face and his wife Annie, breached the contract that both parties had when they used some pictures he took at 2Face’s wedding without due attribution to him as the owner of the work. He claimed that over 148 photos out of 355 he snapped were watermarked with 2Face’s official website “2faceonline.com”.
Mr. Okolo said the couple had convinced him to remove the watermarks due to poor quality of the pictures which he eventually did but tagged a clause on it saying anytime the pictures were to be used, his company would be credited. However, 2Face and Annie Idibia have counter sued the photographer for N150 million saying he was not invited to the wedding but went ahead to take photographs without their permission for his own personal gains.
