Yemi Alade’s sophomore album “Mama Africa” is slated to hit stores world-wide on the 25th of March 2016; ahead of this date the Effyzzie Music diva held a press conference coupled with an exclusive album listening sessions for fans, music enthusiasts and journalists in Lagos.
Yemi Alade disclosed that her the title of her forthcoming studio album was inspired by her tours and performances across Africa.
“My producer Fliptyce and so many other people they’ve been calling me “Mama Africa” because they noticed that your girl no dey stay one place”, she said at a her exclusive album listening event in Lagos today March 1. “Today I go dey Angola, tomorrow I go dey Kenya. I dey waka too much and mostly to African countries. “So den start to dey call me “Mama Africa” you no go sit down one place, she added. “2016 is all about my fans, let’s just say my fans gave me the title.” The performer also gave out prizes to the winners of her #UnveilMamaAfrica trivia/game and delivered a solid acoustic performance of "Nakupenda". Female singer Niniola also was present at the event.
“Mama Africa” comes out on March 25, 2016. It features top African act such as Sauti Sol, DJ Arafat, Sarkodie, Selebobo, Flavour, P-Square and Rotimi Keys. Yemi Alade's album also features production from BeatsByEmzo, DJ Arafat, Masterkraft, Mr Chidoo, PhilKeyz, Rotimi Keys and Selebobo. The project is a follow up to the Effyzzie Music Group artist’s debut album “King of Queens” which was released October 2, 2014.
