Having already forged a successful career behind the scenes producing for the likes of Kat Deluna, Jerimih, Giggs, Usher, Sean Paul, Jaquees and Chris Brown, London based production duo Da Beatfreakz, team up with Sneakbo, Moelogo, Afro B and Sona for the motivationally charged Afro/bashment anthem ‘Quavo’.
Premiered by BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Target, the track is a nod to the Migos member and how hip hop culture has been embraced worldwide. With the UK Afrobeats scene flourishing currently, the pair announce this track as the first single from a forthcoming project of original material. They explain:
“It’s amazing to see how African music is widely spreading into mainstream audiences. For us it’s an exciting time to be making music, to be part of history in the making within the African diaspora.”
“For the intro we sampled Nigerian athlete, Divine Oduduru’s viral quote ‘We African people we are born great’ – this really resonated with us and felt it was the perfect way to start off our forth coming project”
