MUSIC: FLO - 'Good Life' (aka Floacist of Floetry)

FLO was first introduced to the international music scene in 2002 to great critical acclaim, as the Floacist of Floetry. 15 years later we find the award winning modern day poet not only entering a new chapter of her ever evolving career, but even more excitingly, we also find her in an entirely new volume of her life, newly engaged to former ‘Stone Roses’ drummer Robbie Maddix and nearing the release of her 4th solo album ‘True.’

“’True.’ is my best work so far...by far. It’s all in the alignment you see...life is good right now!” FLO

As the old saying goes...life imitates art and the first single from ‘True’ is the aptly titled ‘GOOD LIFE’. Impeccably produced by FLO’s long time friend and collaborator, Grammy nominated producer Chris 'Big Dog' Davis, this undeniable summer anthem oozes with classic feel good flavour, authentically laced with pure head nodding hip hop vibes and hypnotic neo soul grooves!

In the accompanying video for ‘GOOD LIFE’ FLO shares her world with us for the first time and it is overflowing with family, friends, food, laughter and plenty of love. Directed by Fabien Soazandry (award winning director, film maker, animator), Darwood Grace (director, film maker, poet) and FLO herself, the song title is personified in this cleverly captured visual 'docu'video' narrative. Shot in FLO’s actual home we are invited in as FLO shares her Jamaican British culture with her fans around the globe. With the way the world seems to be right now, it’s a breath of truly appreciated fresh air to be encouraged to gather with the ones you love to spread love. Surely this is what the 'GOOD LIFE' is all about?
