Nasibu Abdul Juma pka Diamond Platnumz ‘bongo flavour’ (Tanzanian hip hop) recording artist is signed to label WCB Records distributed by Universal Music.
The 27-year-old Diamond Platnumz, is currently considered the most influential and highest earning artist in Tanzania and the Great Lakes Africa sub region. This was no easy task for him to achieve having been raised in Tandale, Tanzania by a single mother and grandmother and having many ups and downs.
His breakthrough came in 2009 with first hit single “Nenda Kamwambie” which opened the doors to his dreams, and almost a decade later Diamond Platnumz is one of the most loved and decorated Tanzanian artists.
Diamond Platnumz has also collaborated with some of the biggest artists on the continent such as South Africa’s AKA, Nigeria’s P-Square on hit “Kidogo” (which was playlisted at BBC Radio 1Xtra), Flavour, and Davido who featured on the remix of his biggest hit “Number One” and "Marry You" Ft. Ne-Yo in 2016.
Diamond Platnumz has had 28 awards nominations and has won 22, the most prominent being Best Live Act 2015 at the MTV Africa MAMA Awards, Best African Act 2015 and Best Worldwide Act (Africa/India) 2015 MTV EMA Awards and being nominated for Best International Act: Africa 2014 and 2016 at the BET Awards.
