Nigeria’s self acclaimed “Mama Africa” recently spoke with Al Jazeera on her music career, family and other subjects.
Speaking to Femi Oke, Ms Alade said she had so much energy growing up as she was involved in so many activities.
On how she picked music as her first choice, she said she was not sure about music until she won a talent show. She then decided to give in to music totally.
To be good at what she does, Yemi engaged in trainings to improve herself.
She performs Wombolombo (featuring music veteran, Angelique Kidjo) and Africa (featuring popular music group Sauti Sol).
