Hot on the heels of his Mavin Records collaboration on ‘Overloading (Overdose)’ alongside Ayra Starr, Boy Spyce, LADIPOE and Magixx, the rising Nigerian music sensation Crayon returns with his brand-new, feel-good Afropop single ‘Ijo (Laba Laba)’.

Poised to be a strong contender for the summer anthem of 2022, the Sarz-produced single is an addictive melting pot of House, Amapiano and Afropop influences that is guaranteed to make you dance and cast your worries aside.

“’Ijo [Laba Laba]’ is a song intended to drive you to dance - regardless of your current predicament. As colourful and bubbly as a butterfly, this is a song that lifts your spirit and soul.” Crayon says, adding: “You should also appreciate the multicultural vibe by singing in multiple languages. This is music that soundtracks a carnival”

Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Crayon first burst onto the vibrant Afropop scene in 2019, signing with Don Jazzy's influential Mavin Records and going on to release his debut EP, Cray Cray which was one of the most celebrated releases of that year and earned him a place on numerous ‘ones to watch’ lists. Since then he has created career defining hits with tracks such as ‘So Fine’, 2020’s Kelvyn Boy collaboration ‘Tele’, last year’s Twelve A.M EP - which featured dynamic collaborations with Rema, Bella Shmurda and One Acen – and most recently the ‘Overloading (Overdose)’ single. Already earning early co-signs from the likes of Wizkid and 2baba and continuing to hone his craft and sound in the studio, Crayon Is set to have one of his biggest years yet.
