AIR FORCE 1 HISTORY

As we all know the Air Force 1 is one of the most popular sneakers available. I can define this sneaker as the true meaning of a Timeless Piece, it was created by designer Bruce Kilgore and its official release was in 1982 where it was the first basketball shoe to use the Nike Air Technology. The name is based on a reference to the Airplane Of The President Of The United States.

After release in 1982 the shoe was discontinued and re-released in 1986 with a basic differentiation of a modern italic Nike Logo, but since that time till now there has been over 1,700 colour ways that has been produced with most made without the original stitching on the side panels. Originally made as a performance shoe it has also gained a light in the fashion and casual wear scene with collaborations with rappers such as Nelly, Kanye-West, Nas, and KRS-ONE, although it still used for street play and professionally by basketball players.

Later versions were also released later on down the line, as of 1987 the initial Air Force 2 was produced mainly as a casual wear sneaker. The Air Force 3s were released the following year(1988) based on a more durability and a rugged look, it was quite popular between basketball players at the time. In 1989 the Air Force STS (Air Force 4) was released with a bit higher sole to the first three, and following that in 1990 the Air Force 5 being the last original Air Force model to be made. In 2007 for the 25th anniversary Nike redesigned the Air Force 1s lows which were mainly made in Black or White colours, which is probably seen a lot today.

In recent years they have been released in different colour variations with updates being make from the originals, here’s a look at the originals.

Back-to-school: Mojo Backpack

Mojo Backpack: Designed in New York.
First came across this brand at the Stitch Menswear Trade show SS14 in London and was immediately drawn to their designs. They had different styles of backpacks and duffle bags.

The one that stood out to me was the ones with iPod speakers at the rear. Not sure exactly when this will be released in the UK but according to their rep at the Stitch, it should be out in 4th Quarter/ Autumn.
