London, 13th January 2014 – Nigerian Watch, the UK's premier African newspaper, moves from being a monthly to becoming a fortnightly publication from 31st January 2014. The initiative will benefit readers and advertisers alike as the newspaper increases the delivery of news and analysis to the Nigerian diaspora community in the UK.
From 31st January, each fortnightly issue will continue to pack a punch with 24 pages of News, Business, Sports, Lifestyle & Entertainment and Politics sections. Readers will receive the same informative, engaging and entertaining content produced to the high editorial standards they have come to expect while the Lifestyle & Entertainment section in particular is set to become visually catchier and more engaging.
Maryanne Jemide, Managing Director of Nigerian Watch, says: "With 2014 a landmark year for Nigeria – our nation celebrates its centenary; Super Eagles play at the World Cup in Brazil, Team Nigeria participate at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow; and the 2015 Presidential Election gains pace – this is the most opportune time to increase frequency.
“Our readers have been so positive about our newspaper and the abundance of content this year means that we can now give them more of what they love. We look forward to hearing from readers and advertisers alike what they think about the new fortnightly Nigerian Watch.”
Nigerian Watch launched in May 2012 with a monthly print-run of 20,000 copies consisting of 48 pages, which increased to 50,000 copies a few months later.
