Apple
TV price slashed by £20: Is a new version incoming?

New
iMacs weren’t the only reason the Apple Store went down yesterday. Apple has also slashed £20 off the price of the Apple TV. Now you can get your hands on one for just £79, which is an absolute steal.

The device hasn’t been upgraded since March 2012, when it was made to play nice with 1080p HD video. So it’s about time Apple
gave us something new.

What could we see from a new model then? Previous rumours say that Siri, Apple’s digitalbutler, could make an appearance on a future model of Apple TV, so you could control it by speaking.
Apple is also said to be working on deals
with more content providers to bring more on-demand TV shows
and films to the device. The App Store
and iOS games are expected to jump in too. Imagine it, Kiwanuka on your big-screen telly.

Or could Apple be readying the fabled TV set Steve Jobs
told his biographer about? The trail has gone a little cold on that story for now, so watch this space.
