GADGETS: Thought the iPhone 6 was thin? Get a load of this rakish super phone

The iPhone 6 is wafer-thin, and Apple is making sure that we all know it. Keeping its hardware as svelte as possible has been a key objective for the company ever since it launched iOS all those years ago, and with its latest offering boasting a barely-there thickness of just 6.9mm, you could forgive the Cupertino-based firm for feeling just a tiny bit smug.

However, it would appear that the iPhone 6 has been quickly upstaged by a Chinese manufactuerer called UMI, which has just released more details about its flagship handset, the Zero. At 6.4mm it's even less likely to leave a bulge in your pocket than the iPhone 6, and is being billed as the thinnest SMARTPHONE ever made. However, that's not the only trick this Andriod-based blower has up its sleeve. It has a quad-core 2.0GHz CPU, a Samsung-made 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, Gorilla Glass III protection and a massive 3000mAh battery.

Want to get your hands on this wonder phone? Well sadly you won't find it down your local mobile store here in the UK. UMI is practucally unknown in the west, and the only way to buy a Zero is to import it from an online retailer. There's no word on pricing as yet, but Chinese phones are usually cheap -- German retailer Efox Shop has the Zero listed for just €217.99 -- that's around £170.
