The Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks fiasco continues. After the outspoken Banks sat down with Hot 97 for a powerful and memorable interview, the misunderstood femcee had an intense exchange of tweets with the Grammy-nominated Iggy. During her interview with Hot 97 earlier today, the rapper/songstress talked black culture, hip-hop, her music and of course Iggy Azalea and the many problems she has with her:
“I feel like in this country, whenever it comes to our things, like black issues or black politicsor black music or whatever, there’s always this undercurrent of kinda like a ‘fuck you.’ There’s always a “fuck y’all niggas. Y’all don’t really own shit. Y’all don’t have shit.”
Banks also addressed the Grammys: “When they give these Grammys out, all it says to white kids is: oh yeah you’re great, you’re amazing, you can do whatever you put your mind to. And it says to black kids: you don’t have shit. You don’t own shit, not even the shit you created for yourself, and it makes me upset.”
This wasn’t the first time Banks and Iggy got into it, however. Earlier this month, the two female stars had a war of words via Twitter regarding Iggy’s business relationship with T.I., where Banks went on to calling Tip a “shoe-shining coon,” in addition to accusing Iggy of not caring about black issues, but copying black culture.
