VIDEO: Lieutenant Stitchie LIVE - Onstage Extra

In recent weeks something very interesting has happened to the image of Jamaica’s Dancehall music; some old, more respected artists have soar to the forefront both locally and internationally and it has got many people optimistic about what’s to come.

Assassin also called Agent Sasco has been a stellar example of what good, clean Dancehall is all about. Unfortunately, because the local scene was flooded with the more despicable artists he was not getting the attention and/or credit he deserves. Thank God, all that is changing now especially that he has landed collaborations with two of hip-hop’s biggest artists; Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar. Now the talk of the town is Agent Sasco all of sudden disc-jocks who overlooked him has him in high rotation and he is booked for most of the big Dancehall shows locally and abroad.

Another artist that has come back much to everyone’s surprise is the man they call the Dancehall Governor, Lt. Stitchie. Many may remember that Lt. Stitchie walked away from Dancehall over a century ago when he gave his life to Christ. To those in the Dancehall arena it seems like Lt. Stitchie had fallen off the face of the earth but here it is in 2015 and he has one of the hottest songs in the Dancehall now. He was recently invited to perform on the #1 entertainment show on TV, Onstage with Winfred Williams and he showed the world that he is still the Governor.
