Having written and produced for some of the greats, Beverley Knight,Damage,Tina Turner,Rod Stewart,Artful Dodger & Liberty X, Michelle Escoffery is finally offering her own material under the artist name "Maya Blu".
Hailing from the "Escoffery's" hall of fame, Michelle is the youngest of the sisters who were signed to Atlantic Records in 1991 with their album "Opinions".
Michelle Escoffery's talent and love for music is unquestionable - Michelle says “I love writing for other Artists, however, it was finally time I gave myself a voice and told my own stories. I’ve created Maya Blu to make a clear distinction between myself as a writer and Artiste. Michelle Escoffery is about creating for other people. Maya Blu is all about me, being as honest in my music and approach to it as I possibly can. ”
Growing up in a Jamaican household with parents of the "Windrush Era", Michelle's influences are richly rooted in reggae, gospel and soul with hints of jazz. Single "Slow Dance" is a throwback of "Ska Music" meets soul vocals, celebrating "Women and Womanhood" with substance & panache.
