SILVASTONE Nominated by MOBO AWARDS 'Best African Act' 2015





2015 has been a remarkable year for hotly-tipped and fast-rising UK-based African artist/producer SILVASTONE. Having started the year with inclusion in the coveted BBC Radio 1Xtra "Hot For 2015" list - a selection of artists predicted by the corporation to do great things, SILVASTONE has now just been nominated by the prestigious MOBO Awards as 'Best African Act'. 

This nominee inclusion in a highly contended category perhaps shouldn't have been a surprise given the well noted hardwork he's put in thoughout 2015 and the quality output from the London resident who also proudly represents for his Sierra Leone/Ghana parentage. His highly acclaimed TransitionsEP – a superbly executed hybrid of Afrobeats and other urban genres sounds, was released nearly a year ago and gained immediate support from reputed tastemakers including Mistajam, DJ Edu, Zane Lowe, Ras Kwame, DJ Target and even many more globally. He went on to undertake a UK tour at the start of the year, feature on numerous major events across the UK including performances twice at Wembley SSE Arena, twice at Glastonbury Festival, The Liverpool International Music Festival, plus gigs overseas i.e, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Sweden, etc. He is also booked as support act for some big tours to be announced soon.

Heavily championed on UK's BBC Radio 1Xtra, Radio1, CapitalXtra, BangRadio, NewStyle, Reprezent etc and extensive airplay across Africa - including BEAT FM Nigeria, RadioCity Uganda, KISS FM Kenya, DiamondFM Zimbabwe, YFM Ghana etc, plus TV and blogs support everywhere worldwide SILVASTONE really has been internationally proving he's the new name to watch throughout 2015 plus into 2016 and looks like many have taken notice.

Now SILVASTONE is calling upon his worldwide supporters for votes that will keep him into the final five nominees for the ‘Best African Act’. The shortlist will be selected from public votes made on the MOBO website by the 14th October. This year the MOBO Awards celebrate their 20th anniversary at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on November 4 and will be televised on ITV2 in the UK and streamed online globally at MOBO.com.
