Pioneering British-Ghanaian artist Mista Silva has been a longstanding presence in London's afrobeats scene; this year, he was nominated for the third time at the MOBOS (for Best African Act). With his latest single "Murda," he's bringing pure sunshine to the freezing U.K. streets: despite its decoy title, the hip-winding track is all about killing off your negativity and embracing the moment. "'Murda' means proving the stereotypes wrong!" Mista Silva explained in a cheerful email to The FADER. "Growing up as a black African in London, we've always been painted with negativity, so this record is about good vibes and shining above the negative energy placed upon me and my people!"
