Global superstar – Davido releases the accompanying visuals for his single “Intro” today.
“Intro” is a powerful and emotional introduction to his acclaimed sophomore album A Good Time. It speaks speaks on politics, struggle, pain and a call on God to answer the prayers of the millions of Nigerian youths searching for that breakthrough to a better life. The visuals are co-directed by Brendon “88” Kareem and Kayode “Tycoone” Umardeen during lockdown and is a snapshot of Davido during his 22-city sold out North American tour which was cancelled due to the Covid-19 global pandemic.
Davido’s sister makes a rare cameo in this video, whilst his aunt’s voice is also included with her prayer. Speaking in his native tongue Yoruba, she says, –“our mighty Lord, we come to your throne of grace and we bring to you your son David Adeleke. We thank you for the heights you have taken him and the places you have planned for him to go. As he is doing well and helping the people around him – from young to old, male and female and empowering the youths of this nation, please continue to help him as he helps others in our Lord’s name. Amen.”
“Intro” comes hot on the heels after “D&G”, his collaboration with Atlanta R&B star - Summer Walker co-produced by London on Da Track and Nigerian producer Kiddominant and as Billboard magazine announces him and fellow African music ambassadors – Tiwa Savage and Mr Eazi for their cover<x-msg://21/cover>.
