Rihanna and Ciara go at it on twitter ( Beef Alert )
Gotta love technology. Whereas pop diva catfights might once have been limited to backstage, behind the scenes, where only stagehands and publicists are privy to them, now millions of people can bear witness and following along with every “rawr!” and hiss, thanks to Twitter. The latest virtual scuffle? Flexible Ciara used E!’s Fashion Police to claim her latest run-in with recent birthday girl Rihanna “wasn’t the most pleasant,” which got an even-less-pleasant reply from Kanye’s favorite lady in red. Head below for a transcript of RiRi and CiCi’s resulting tweet-drama, bitchy hashtags and all.
RiRi: “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme”
CiCi: “Trust me Rhianna u dont want to see me on or off stage.”
RiRi: “U gangsta huh? Haaa.”
RiRi: “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of.”
But then, unexpectedly, a light at the end of this hissy-fit tunnel, as Rihanna (apparently) decides to make nice:
RiRi: “Ciara baby, I love u girl! You hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s y I retaliated this way! So sorry! #letsmakeup”
CiCi: “pure comedy…”
And then, another light, as Ciara (apparently) decides to accept the apology:
CiCi: “Rhi u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows/everything. You threw me off in that party! Apology accepted. Let’s chat in person.”
(Don’t fall for it, Rihanna!)
Rihanna’s final, mysterious reply?
RiRi: “Joke”
While “nastiest comeback” definitely goes to Rihanna for the win, we have to admit (everyone point at Ciara) — “She started it!” We’ll leave it up to you to decide whether or not either diva’s apology was sincere, whether one or both of these ladies will get their eyes clawed out next time they meet in public, or if the whole thing was just an audition for the next Mean Girls.
Regardless, we think both divas should sleep with one eye open — being sued for plagiarism isn’t likely to put the “S&M” mistress in a very forgiving mood, while Ciara’s album title Basic Instinct suddenly has us flashing back to Sharon Stone wielding that ice pick…
Joke!

50 Cent's 'Things Fall Apart' Premieres In Miami Next Week Fif reportedly lost 50 pounds for Mario Van Peebles-directed film. Published by DjLanre
It may have taken 50 Cent
losing pounds to be recognized as a weighty actor. The film "Things
Fall Apart," which stars 50 Cent as a college football player stricken
with cancer, will make its world premiere March 5 at the Miami International Film Festival.
Last year, 50 Cent drew headlines
over his commitment to playing the role of Deon Barnes, a University of
Michigan football player whose hopes of an NFL career are derailed by a
cancer diagnosis. For the role, 50 Cent reportedly lost more than 50
pounds. Stills from the film, directed by Mario Van Peebles, revealed
that the rapper looked shockingly emaciated and nearly unrecognizable.
"50 Cent's physical transformation combined with Mario's vision
for the film kept the story fresh, gritty and powerful," Miami
International Film Festival Executive Director Jaie Laplante told AllHipHop.com. "Fans in Miami will have a unique opportunity to see the film well before the rest of the world does."
The film also lightened the Queens rapper's pockets, since
besides writing the script, he produced and financed the picture himself
too, via his Cheetah Vision Films production company. Director Van
Peebles also acts in the film along with Ray Liotta, who plays Barnes'
doctor, and Lynn Whitfield.
50 is taking the actor/rapper/mogul tag seriously. He recently signed on to star in a crime drama called "Freelancers,"
which is going to be directed by Jessy Terrero. On the music side, the
rapper is getting the buzz going on his forthcoming album, Black Magic,
releasing a couple of new songs ("When I Come Back," "Run Up on Me"
freestyle) online to whet fans' appetites. 50 also recently followed in
the footsteps of Dr. Dre and launched his own high-end headphone line
called Sleek by 50 Cent. Source/Mtv.com

During her early teens Cleo already began establishing herself in the industry as a featured artist on various tracks. Notable features include Tinie Tempah ‘Tears’, DaVinChe ‘Hero’, alongside Bashy on ‘Riding For Love’ and most recently on the official Orange Rockcorps anthem ‘Give A Little Love’ co-starring Roll Deep, Aggro Santos, Bluey Robinson and Bashy. Doctor’s brand new highly anticipated mixtape for 2011 called ‘DOCTOR’S ORDERS’, will be available to download on 28th March. (Listen) Published by DjLanre
As a young boy arriving to UK shores from Jamaica with his family at just 11 years old, this young talent was always destined for a life in music. By the age of just 14 he was already writing lyrics daily with ambitions of following in the footsteps of then influences ‘So Solid Crew’. Shortly he found himself mixing with the likes of Mario, through a “crew” that he and a group of other talents had created. It was Mario who introduced the young protégé to Roll Deep, from which Wiley took him under his wing providing opportunities to showcase his talents to a far greater reaching audience of like minded music fans.
Now, as one of the most well respected and talked about artists on the underground urban music scene, having been working with the likes of Davinche,Chase and Status, Iyaz, Ironik and DJ Chuckie during his time away since releasing his first hit mix tape ‘Before Surgery’, Doctor’s time to burst out from underground has arrived!
We have seen already that the UK public are receptive to the sounds of Doctor with his first single release ‘Never Wanna Say Bye Bye’ reaching number 18 in the official charts. Evidence of support throughout Europe is without question strong with his ‘Don Dat’ track with DJ Chuckie reaching number 1 in the club charts.
His music influences are often apparent in the production of some hugely unique and infectious beats, with lyrical talent and hooks inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson, Ludacris and Motown Common Sense.
Doctor represents a completely new sound on the UK music scene, making him a hugely refreshing package thanks to his writing and production talent as well as the strong blend of a reggae undertone.
The future for Doctor is undoubtedly an exciting one, starting with a brand new mix tape 'Doctor's Orders' scheduled for release 28th March to begin his assault on the UK’s music scene!!
Doctor’s brand new highly anticipated mixtape for 2011 called ‘DOCTOR’S ORDERS’, will be available to download on 28th March, the first single off the mixtape called ‘Star’ produced by Daniel2Dark ft Kat

early in "You Can Sell Anything"—could be a mantra for the Das Racist
catalogue. Their records, which are racked in adept wordplay, make
references to anything from reading the work of post-colonial theorist
Gayatri Spivak to flipping swaggy lyrics spit by other rappers into
regular dude situations. It only makes sense that they would team up
with Mad Decent don Diplo.
As a DJ and a producer, he also picks fruit off of many different

pairing is from Das Racist's new mixtape, Sit Down, Man, available today from Mad Decent.

Gino Feat. Naeto C & YQ - I' m so Fly! (Listen & Download) Published by DjLanre
The Man | The MC | The Music
For rap music lovers, this is more than good news. After a brief hiatus from the rap game, rapper Gino is back in with a new single titled “I’m So Fly” feat. YQ and Naeto C. In 2005, Gino revolutionized the game when he dropped his instant classic video ‘No Be God’ and later released his debut album (which many regard as being one of the best rap albums in Nigeria) Pain Plus Work.
The album also generated another hit Farabale which was a club hanger. While many thought the rapper took time off, he was actually in the booth taking his time to record a body of work that will be rated flawless. With such high standards it is said that Gino has scrapped songs worth two albums. Now satisfied with what he has, the C.E.O of MOBB Records is finally set to drop his highly anticipated sophomore album.
Kicking his re-entrance is this new single which was produced by the *SoundCity and Future Awards Producer of the Year*, Sossick. Gino’s second album is scheduled to drop later in the year.

Breaking Update* Confirmed: "Buju Banton" has been found guilty on three counts. Published by DjLanre
FLORIDA, USA – Reggae star Buju Banton was found guilty on three charges by a 12-member panel of jurors a short while ago at the United States Sam M Gibbons Federal Court here in Tampa. The artiste was found guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five or more kilogrammes of cocaine, of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offence and using the wires to facilitate a drug-trafficking offence.
However he was found not guilty attempted possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. The artiste hugged his lawyer David Markus when the verdict was read. Many of the artiste's supporters left the courtroom crying. He has been detained and has had his bail revoked..
Buju Banton's signature is only a small victory
Blaming musicians for homophobia is like blaming gangsta rappers for gang violence. They don't help matters, but nor did they create the problem.
So Buju Banton has finally bowed to pressure and signed the "reggae compassionate act". No news, though, on whether he did so with a smile. Given that protests related to the Stop Murder Music campaign have cost Jamaican artists an estimated £2.5m after the cancellation of concerts and sponsorship deals, one suspects that his assent was motivated by pragmatism rather than a sudden change of heart.
For years, Banton was synonymous with Jamaican homophobia. Despite trading so-called "slack" lyrics for consciousness-raising roots reggae after his conversion to Rastafarianism in the mid 90s (1995's 'Til Shiloh is a classic of its kind), he refused to distance himself from the sentiments of Boom Bye Bye, the song he recorded as a hot-headed teenager. When I raised the subject with him four years ago, he stonewalled: "That's the past. I've been down that road a thousand times and I refuse to go there again with anyone."
I could see why. Countless other dancehall artists had equally contentious views on homosexuality but until 2002, when OutRage! began targeting the likes of Beenie Man, Elephant Man, TOK and Vybez Kartel, Banton was the only one whose entire career - in Britain, anway - was overshadowed by the issue. Then again, he was filmed performing Boom Bye Bye last year, and in 2005 was charged with assaulting a gay man. (The case was dismissed due to lack of evidence.)
But will this change anything? The whole idea of signing an act is dubious. Take the priggish wording: "There's no space in the music community for hatred and prejudice, including no place for racism, violence, sexism or homophobia." Firstly, there is no single "music community", and it's absurd to claim there is. Secondly, the neutered art that it describes does not fill my heart with joy. No violence? Farewell, most hip hop, not to mention Johnny Cash and Nick Cave. And how exactly do you decide when sexism reaches an unacceptable level? It reeks of muddle-headed censorship.
In the case of Jamaican music, the act targets the symptom, not the cause. Homophobic dancehall lyrics are not a frowned-upon fringe interest, like Nazi rock is in Britain or America. They reflect, albeit in a lurid, exaggerated form, the views of a society that the US-based Human Rights Watch describes as the most violently homophobic it has ever encountered. Steeped in conservative Christianity and hardline Rastafarianism, Jamaica has yet to decriminalise homosexuality. You might as well ask the Pope to endorse condoms as expect the average Jamaican man to embrace another man's right to be gay.
Blaming musicians for homophobia is like blaming gangsta rappers for gang violence. They don't help matters, but they didn't create the problem, nor do they have the power to solve it. Murder music, admittedly, is a particularly repellent genre, and if the campaign manages to stop mainstream acts from singing about shooting the "batty boy", then it may end up saving some lives. But removing homophobia from Jamaican culture is way beyond the remit of pop music. As victories go, the acquisition of Banton's signature must count as a small one. SOURCE Jamaica Observer.com

The haters, he knows, will always be there And they're around for only one reason to make him stronger! In the music 'biz'' for the past years, the Edo native got his feet wet in the game Since then, he's never looked back. Not one to follow the crowd or sit on his laurels, Jae Baz is paying his dues, aware that he too has to take the perilous voyage through the underground to reach the land of commercial success.
With a strong belief in perseverance and commitment, now, more than ever, that with God on his side, there's nothing he can't accomplish. Ever grateful to his steadily growing fan base, Jae Baz's honing his chops for what he hopes will be a successful and fulfilling 2010. Keen on carving out his own niche in this world, he's crossing his T's and dotting his I's as he goes about putting his plan into motion. Simply put, Jae Baz plans to be only one thing... B.I.G!

Kenyan-born Stella Mwangi Representing Norway In Eurovision. Published by DjLanre
Kenya-born singer Stella Mwangi, AKA STL, is a rising star, a well-known artist in Kenya, with her single “Haba Haba” is topping the charts in Norway. Now she is taking her song and famous smile to Europe’s biggest music competition.
On February 12th Mwangi won Norway’s big music contest, Melodi Grand Prix 2011, making her the selection to represent the Scandinavian country in the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany in May.
“Haba Haba,” which This is Africa suggests was inspired by Shakira’s “Waka Waka,” is an uber-upbeat pop song with a pronounced Afropop flavor. (Watch her winning performance on YouTube.) She reportedly charmed the audience into submission and won by a landslide.
Mwangi’s family came to Norway as political refugees when she was five years old, she became active in Norway’s hip hop scene as a teen and has been pursuing a music career ever since. That’s right, she raps too!

I was born and raised in south Nigeria (west-side Africa). I grew up in one of the most popular city in the Niger delta called WARRI. The Music in me started developing when i first had hands on the yamaha PSR-70 which my Dad had used in his old music band.
I played the Keyboard for a local church in my neighborhood called CHRIST MISSIONARY CRUSADERS CHURCH where my oldest brother was a choir master. As time goes by. i started having interest in playing drums, flute, the snare and kick drum for my Primary school called STANDARD INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WARRI.
I made progress and got into writing my own songs @ the age of 13 (nursery rhymes). i started listening to different genres and collections of different artiste like. FELA, OLIVER THE COQUE, FELIX LIBERTY, DON WILLIAMS, TEMPTATIONS, BARRY WHITE, KRS ONE, SCARFACE, HEAVY D, NOTORIOUS B.I.G, NAS, WESTLIFE, ENYA, E.t.c...
