Salute Cokobar!!!
This was the best Film Premiere I have ever attended in London.
We are used to Cokobar.com bringing us the best Concerts, Comedy shows etc.. Now we can add more grease to their Elbow.
The London Premiere of Lekki Wives took place at Lighthouse in Camberwell.
Doors opened at 6pm and I arrived at the venue at approximately 7.55pm.
The team was very well organised; they scanned my ticket and inside the building I was. No Long thing. :-)
I had some time to take my usual Red Carpets pics, getting interviewed and then network a bit here and there. The Usual....
This was certainly a star studded event.
La Creme de La Creme of our society attended and many celebrities such as the entire Lead cast of the 1st season, Adaora Ukoh, Kiki Omeili, Katherine Obiang, Keira Hewatch, Chinonso Young, its director Blessing Effiom Egbe, Ropo the CEO of Cokobar.com and organiser of the event, Tunde of Phoenix Media, Wisetola and her Husband Sam Onigbanjo, Dj Abass, Shoggy Tosh, D3 dancers, Adesope Olajide, Danny Erskine, my humble self and many others were present on the red carpet, photographed and filmed by many well known media houses.
The queue at the Popcorn section especially created for this event was crazy. The Jollof Rice department was also busy serving customers.
Let me break it down to you: Cokobar was able to turn the church Lighthouse into a Cinema.
What I like about Cokobar is that they strive to please anybody and everybody.
They have an event for each age group.
Cokobar the club on the weekends, Comedy Shows for the family during the year, Concerts for the fans BUT at the premiere all age groups were proudly represented.
I must admit that I have watched the whole series couple of months ago in the comfort of my home. I could tell that some others did too but watching it again in this much shorter version was definitely nice.
The atmosphere, vibe and aura was positive and the audience responded very well to the funny and also not so funny scenes showcased in the film.
What a shame that Anthony Manjaro didn't attend the premiere because his scenes were the funniest.
Olamide's appearance and performance at the end added the last piece of diamond that was missing in this beautiful ring of joy.
The mature crowd was rapping and dancing along to his tracks Turn Up and Durosoke.
The Formula Olamide + Lekki wives x Cokobar enable this event to become a great turn out.
It was definitely a great idea to edit the series into a film because this will incite those who haven't watched the series to get the DVD in order to see all the details that have been cut out.
This was a nice marketing strategy in order to generate more sales.
Cokobar.com I see you.
