Electric car
fans, your time has come: next month marks the British arrival of Tesla’s brand new Model S performance car, and according to the company, you’ll be able to zoom around for 300 miles on just a single charge! Are you ready for this next-gen electric sports car?

Tesla has announced that the first right-hand drive Model S car
will hit British shores on 7 June, with plenty more on the way throughout the summer. We’ve been waiting since 2008for the all-electric
motor when it was originally announced, and now we’re finally able to get our mitts on a right-hand drive model to hit the streets with.

Although it’ll cost an eye-watering £70,000, you’re treated to a fully electric motor that can drive
the width of the UK on just a single charge
, and it’ll only take 20 minutes to add an extra 130 miles worth of charge with one of Tesla’s supercharging stations, meaning it’s possible to take a road trip spanning a wide range of the country, easily. Throw in that it’s capable of hitting 0 – 62mph in 4.2 seconds, along with a top speed of 130mph, and you’ll find Tesla’s Model S a comparable electric sedan to seriously rival BMW’s and Mercedes’ executive motors.

Most modern electric cars only have a limited range of around 100 miles, and need to be recharged overnight, making Tesla’s Model S a much better eco-alternative, while the costs
for juicing it back up
are a lot less than typical petrol refill too, meaning you’ll be recouping your investment a lot quicker than with a similar petrol-based sedan.

It looks like electric cars are finally coming of age, with Tesla’s Model S leading the way, but do you think it’s well worth
the investment
for one, or would you rather keep your petrol motor? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
