Unlike a lot of wearables (Google Glass, we’re looking at you), the Netatmo June is simple, elegant and unassuming. To look at it, you wouldn’t know it was packed with tech. That’s down to the fresh, clean style, by French jewellery designer
Camille Toupet.

But make no mistake, it’s very smart. As well as measuring exposure, the accompanying app advises how best to protect your skin on a daily basis, both from premature aging and from more serious effects. It works with the iPhone 4s and later models, though not Android at the moment.
The bracelet measures UV intensity, as well as how much sun the wearer’s skin has absorbed through the day. The app can calculate recommended levels for maximum daily exposure depending on skin type, and it can even notify you when it’s time to head indoors.
Thankfully, the app doesn’t actually nag you if you don’t go indoors. Once you’ve had your notification you’re on your own.
At present, the Netatmo June is more aimed at women, or men in touch with their feminine side. But the company
will release more wearables aimed at both sexes.

We’ve never seen anything like the Netatmo June before. It’s no fitness tracker, but if that’s what you want, you’re better off with the Samsung Gear 2.
Available online from Netatmo, or in Apple Stores from next week, the June will set you back £69.99. Stay tuned for a full review next week.
